monday morning at the vertin

Just a quick catch-up and maybe a few poems. Friday night was Jack Oyler's opening at the gallery. I like Jack's work and wish I could post some photos here. Maybe later I can have my son or daughter show me how. He doesn't seem to have any work on the web.

Sunday we drove the 100+ miles to Marquette. Zach is looking for an apartment for the fall. I let Zach and Kristyn off at Presque Isle and went shopping. They walked around the park while I was gone. Huge islands of yellow pollen floating in Superior. Pine pollen I suppose. All in all a good trip.

Leona will be back up this Friday. The Eastpointe house is up for sale. Hopefully that will go quickly. Needs work, but we are too far away to do that.

this summer there will be three of us using the studio here at the vertin. so, i have been organizing the space. Kristyn began her apprenticeship with Kristy Walden yesterday. She will be learning all of the artist clay techniques so she will be certified to teach that. She is also helping edit articles on the process and doing research. Should give her some good contacts for future work. She will also be helping me get the poetry magazine(s) up and going again.

dust of ravens weighs heavy on my dreams

(Many of Jack's works have crows(ravens) in them. I bought one from the show. Over half of the work had sold before the opening. Good for Jack)

Enough for now. It is almost 8 am and time to go home and take the dogs out. Last week of school so I have to go in early and get paper work done. Enjoy the day.
